Who Is Lauren "TulaAlfredo" Poindexter

Actress/On-Air Personality/ Producer & Host of web series "Tula Talks"

The birth of the multi-media platform sheislauren.com took place when Lauren needed help raising money to compete in the Miss Maryland USA 2013 pageant. Although she placed 3^rd runner up out of 94 contestants, Lauren still walked away a winner. She owned a web domain and possessed a vision to implement her personal platform of creating a talk show that will give back and inspire her community.

After many trials, errors and revisions the birth of “Tula Talks” came to light. This ground breaking web series produces each show with the intent to inspire and entertain. Yes, it’s that simple and took over a year to grasp the concept.

As a child Lauren would watch TV and wonder how they got inside of the screen, because she wanted to join! In middle school, she quickly broke out of her shell and took part in her first play as Gloria from "Bye Bye Birdie, which was the start of her acting resume.

Lauren gives credit to her Mother and Grandmother for her strong work ethics and outlook on life. Her testimony is the reason why she inspires to use her talent so she may be another positive role model for young girls.

So I am currently riding the MegaBus back home & I think I just got it. Idk why people should care about what I am doing. I can't tell you to tune in, get excited & interested in my thoughts & projects for a specific reason. I can't tell you this is why I am here because I don't know. I don't know why I love acting, why I want to pursue journalism, idk why my spirit is at peace when I am in the heart of Times Square. I don't know... But that's just it. Although I don't know I still plan to pursue it. Because I do know I was put through it all for a reason. So maybe that's it ... It's the {pursuit}... Is my story the pursuit of happiness? The pursuit to make my dreams come true... I'm not sure but i'm willing to open up so you can follow the pursuit too. Maybe my struggle & drive will motivate the next person... I don't know. I use to seriously FEAR the unknown. I like knowing things ..I mean knowledge is POWER & something no one can take away... But for once I'm feeling pretty content with not knowing. Pretty content that my faith will lead the way because I defiantly don't know... And that's ok. - Tula
